East meets West

Vegetarian At Its Best

Since 2016

BARAT ORIGINS

Growing up in a vegetarian family and traveling the globe, we’ve had a lot of experience in curating vegetarian meals. Barat’s menu is a selection of dishes that we have enjoyed and improved upon our travels around the world.

So Barat is west in Malay; celebratory wedding procession in hindi and innocence or guiltless in Urdu and that is what we serve you…. A combination of east and west, a touch of innocence without the guilt and a celebration of Life itself!

Barat @ Bangsar

We thrive on preparing lovely vegetarian & vegan selections that you can eat everyday ……not just a one-time visit for a “taste of the fancy”! Enjoy your meal, resonate with the positive vibrations and absorb the aura of Barat within which we prepare your meals.

To our meat loving friends, well, we say, you know, it’s only almost there when you try to replicate meat, so we don’t. But we will, most definitely, give your taste buds a run for your money. Nutritionally rich, our menu combines a balanced selection of healthy options with oh! those devilishly tasty calorific forays! Come enjoy a lifestyle vegetarian
repas somptueux shandar khana’ that spells delicious in
every bite.

FOOYOH AWESOME FOOD YO!

OUR MENU DYNAMICS

Come enjoy the debate between the Italian Pizzz’a, the Thai Red Curry, the Spanish Tapas infantry and ever argumentative Chocolate Lava Cake! Good thing we have health-conscious Hang-Over Cure to tide things over and protein-rich Chick Pea Salad to keep the peace!

Or just choose the Dega, take a back seat, relax and enjoy the flavours!

Media & memories

Barat makes local produce the star of its vegetarian menu

Barat is a place of deep-rooted philosophies and progressive shoots. Its roots extend to The Ganga Cafe, its neighbour on Lorong Kurau.

Nomming a uniquely varied, beautifully crafted vegan menu

The chef was very welcoming, inviting us to try their new restaurant, and the accompanying degustation menu, themed “A Mediterranean Vegetarian Culinary Experience” for the price of RM 88!

Food Was So Good. Chef Was So Nice. Place Was So Cute.

We girls wanted a nice evening out. So Michelle, Fung and I decided to try out the Lorong Kurau area! We were so bored of normal old Telawi, BV, BSC. We knew Bakar was there
